Manila: The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) has issued a warning to the public about what it describes as a 'deliberate' and 'synchronized' social media propaganda campaign allegedly orchestrated by the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and its allied groups.

According to Philippines News Agency, NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Ernesto Torres Jr. highlighted that numerous interlinked pages and sectoral fronts have been promoting identical narratives, slogans, hashtags, visuals, and calls for action. Torres emphasized that these are signs of central direction rather than spontaneous activism. "This is neither coincidence nor spontaneity. This is central direction from the party," Torres stated in a recent statement.

He further explained that the timing, language, framing, and cadence of these posts suggest a party-imposed propaganda line. Torres described this as a textbook maneuver by a movement in decline, attempting to create an illusion of relevance and strength in the digital space. He noted that the content being circulated recycles calls for 'armed struggle,' 'revolutionary movement,' and 'lightning rallies,' specifically targeting students, urban poor communities, and other vulnerable sectors as the group shifts to online platforms amid diminishing support on the ground.

Torres asserted that the campaign aims to incite anger, normalize violence as 'activism,' and groom a new generation. However, he acknowledged that public reaction has largely turned against these groups. "Dissent is protected in a democracy. Deception, grooming, and recruitment for political violence are not. They are acts of exploitation-especially when aimed at the youth," he concluded.
