Pasig city: The 2024-25 season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) kicks off with the All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City on Nov. 9. The season promises to be the longest yet, extending over six months to align with the international FIVB schedule. According to Philippines News Agency, the opening match will see Choco Mucho, a finalist in the last conference, facing off against the two-time Reinforced champion Petro Gazz at 6:30 p.m. Earlier in the day, Akari, boasting a revitalized lineup, will take on Galeries Tower at 4 p.m. The competition will continue with defending champion and Grand Slam winner Creamline battling Petro Gazz at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City on Nov. 16. The Cool Smashers, led by last conference's MVP and Finals MVP Bernadeth Pons, are in pursuit of their fifth consecutive title. In other notable matchups, Chery Tiggo, under the guidance of new coach Norman Miguel, will challenge Capital1 at the Philsports Arena on Nov. 12. On the same day, PLDT will compete against Nxled, which is coached by Italian Ettore Guidetti. ZUS Coffee will introduce its first overall Rookie Draftee Thea Gagate in a match against Akari at the Filoil EcoOil Arena on Nov. 14, while Cignal and Farm Fresh are set to clash on Nov. 16. The league will also feature matches in various locations including Candon, Ilocos Sur (Nov. 23), Cebu (Dec. 7), and Passi, Iloilo (Feb. 22, 2025), marking the conclusion of the first-round preliminaries.
