Quezon City: The Quezon City government and the Philippine National Police - Officers' Ladies Club (PNP-OLC) Foundation, Inc. have signed an agreement to open a child development center at the PNP headquarters located in Camp Crame. This initiative aims to provide a day-care center specifically for the children of police officers.
According to Philippines News Agency, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and PNP-OLC Foundation adviser Mary Rose Marbil formalized the partnership by signing an agreement. This agreement focuses on the establishment of a PNP child development center, which will house a day-care facility within the premises of Camp Crame. The facility was renovated by the OLC Foundation, with the local government supplying teachers, curriculum, learning materials, and uniforms for the children.
Mayor Belmonte highlighted the importance of this collaboration, emphasizing that it represents Quezon City's commitment to supporting not only the police force but also their families. She expressed that the initiative is a valuable means for Quezon City to assist the families of police officers who work diligently to maintain community safety.
Outgoing PNP Chief, Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, noted this project as a significant achievement during his tenure, as it was able to secure permanent teachers for the first time with the assistance of the Quezon City government. He stated that this development underscores the PNP's dedication to caring for the families of police officers, illustrating a commitment to support both the staff and their loved ones.
The child development center, which includes an office, multipurpose room, library, prayer room, handwashing stations, and comfort rooms, was inaugurated by Marbil and Belmonte on April 30.
