Queen Attends International Conference On Mental Wellness And Women Empowerment

KUALA LUMPUR, Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, attended the International Conference on Mental Wellness and Women Empowerment at a hotel here today. A post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's Facebook page said that Her Majesty was welcomed upon arrival by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and her Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad. Also present to welcome the Queen were Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) secretary-general Datuk Dr Maziah Che Yusoff and Malaysian Social Institute director-general Dr Faridah Awang. Raja Zarith Sofiah also took the time to listen to insights on mental well-being shared by Dr Rania Awaad, a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Stanford University. Dr Awaad has pioneered the establishment of the first Muslim Mental Health Community Advisory Board (BAMMH CAB) in the United States.
