Pasig City: The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) announced on Thursday that Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy has been transferred back to the Pasig City Jail following weeks of hospitalization for pneumonia.
According to Philippines News Agency, BJMP spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera stated that Quiboloy was initially taken to the Rizal Memorial Center (RMC) on January 18 due to complaints of shortness of breath. Subsequently, he was moved from RMC to The Medical City, a private hospital in Ortigas, for further medical attention.
Under the order of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159, Quiboloy was later transferred from The Medical City to Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH). At PCGH, he was diagnosed with moderate-risk, community-acquired pneumonia and stage 2 hypertension.
Bustinera noted that during his confinement at PCGH, the court allowed Quiboloy to record a video for his senatorial campaign on February 7. Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge and accusations of child and sexual abuse, along with five of his aides.
Quiboloy was apprehended last September at the church compound in Davao City after a prolonged operation exceeding two weeks.
