Quiboloy Hospitalized for Irregular Heartbeat.

Quezon City: Disgraced Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Apollo Quiboloy has been in a hospital since Friday after complaining of chest pain and irregular heartbeat, the Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed on Monday. In a press conference held at Camp Crame in Quezon City, PNP information chief and spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo stated that Quiboloy, a detainee at the PNP Custodial Center, is confined at the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) for a thorough examination. According to Philippines News Agency, Quiboloy was granted a medical furlough by the Pasig Regional Trial Court after complaining of chest discomfort on November 7. This prompted the PNP General Hospital (PNPGH) to conduct an electrocardiogram, which revealed he is experiencing atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, indicating an irregular heartbeat. The PNPGH recommended that Quiboloy undergo further examination at a more equipped hospital. He was initially expected to return on Monday but was allowed by the court to rema in at PHC until November 16 for additional medical tests. Brig. Gen. Fajardo indicated that the PNP will ensure Quiboloy's return to the PNP Custodial Center no later than 5 p.m. on November 16. She refrained from speculating on the cause of his chest discomfort and urged patience until the results of the medical examination are available. Fajardo emphasized that doctors are considering previous medical procedures performed on Quiboloy. Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge and is accused of child and sexual abuse, along with five of his aides. He was arrested in September at the church compound in Davao City after a more than two-week operation. Following his arrest, his legal team sought hospital or house arrest due to his medical history, which includes two previous heart-related procedures. However, the court denied this petition after the PNPGH assessed that his condition was not life-threatening.
