Manila: Most parts of the country will continue to experience rains, the weather bureau said Friday. Scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail across Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Oriental due to the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. bulletin.
According to Philippines News Agency, the LPA is located 540 km east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 4 a.m., and has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours. Scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies will also prevail in Aurora and Quezon.
Moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides. The easterlies will also cause isolated rain showers or thunderstorms across Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of the Visayas. The rest of Mindanao will get isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA, meanwhile, said the whole archipelago will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
