Rainy Thursday Forecast Across the Philippines Due to Three Weather Systems

MANILA: Rain is expected to continue over many parts of the Philippines on Thursday, with the shear line, northeast monsoon, and the Intertropical Convergence Zone contributing to the wet weather, according to the state weather bureau. According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released a 5 a.m. weather bulletin indicating that the Visayas, Mindanao, Romblon, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, primarily due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone. The weather forecast also suggests that the rest of the Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, and Cagayan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms as a result of the shear line. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. In the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Ilocos Norte, residents can expect cloudy skies with rains. The remainder of the Ilocos Region may anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as 'amihan'. PAGASA has issued warnings about the potential for flash floods or landslides in areas expecting moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms. Additionally, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are forecasted for Northern Luzon, with light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas predicted for the rest of the country.
