Manila: The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) extended immediate assistance to 38 repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) along with their 12 dependents from Dubai, as well as 17 Filipino seafarers affected by an incident in the Black Sea upon their return to the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, the OWWA reported that the repatriates arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Emirates Flight EK330. They were welcomed by government personnel who facilitated their arrival and provided emergency assistance.

The assistance included airport help, food, financial aid, and transportation support for the repatriated OFWs and their dependents. Those requiring further support were given temporary accommodation to ensure their safe and proper arrival in the country.

In addition to this, 17 Filipino seafarers from M/T GAS received Special Financial Assistance as part of the government's immediate support. Their manning agency also arranged for temporary accommodation and transportation to their respective provinces while they completed necessary post-arrival requirements.

OWWA assured that government aid will continue even after the repatriates return home, through various programs aimed at supporting their reintegration into the workforce and their communities. These programs include employment opportunities, livelihood and entrepreneurship assistance, skills training, and other initiatives designed to help returning OFWs and seafarers rebuild their lives.

The OWWA remains committed to ensuring that under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., every OFW can depend on the government throughout their migration journey, from times of need to their safe return and successful reintegration into their families and communities.
