Calamba city: The Sandiganbayan Fourth Division has issued an order for the arrest of Pagsanjan Mayor Jeorge 'ER' Ejercito Estregan and Marilyn M. Bruel for the service of their sentence following their final conviction for graft.

According to Philippines News Agency, officers of the United Boatmen Association of Pagsanjan (UBAP) shared details of the Sandiganbayan proceedings during a press conference held at David's Tea House in Calamba City. The minutes of the proceedings, dated October 20, 2025, were presented to the media.

The Sandiganbayan resolution stated, "The judgment of conviction rendered in the case against accused Jeorge Ejercito Estregan and Marilyn M. Bruel having already become final and executory, let the corresponding Warrant of Arrest be issued against them for service of their sentence."

UBAP chairperson Jose Rivera expressed the group's satisfaction with the outcome, describing it as a long-awaited triumph of justice, highlighting that their fight began in October 2008. Rivera emphasized that the ruling represents a significant victory not only for their group but for the citizens of Pagsanjan who have long sought accountability in public service. He noted that the decision demonstrates that justice continues to prevail and that no one is above the law.

Estregan and Bruel, owner of First Rapids Care Ventures (FRCV), were previously found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of violating Section 3(e) of Republic Act 3019, known as the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. They were sentenced to an indeterminate penalty ranging from six years and one month to a maximum of eight years of imprisonment, along with perpetual disqualification from holding public office.
