Scattered Rains Expected Across Parts of the Philippines

Manila: Some parts of the country will continue to experience scattered rains due to the presence of two weather systems, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday. According to Philippines News Agency, scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the shear line are forecast in Aurora and Quezon. The weather bureau mentioned that the same conditions will prevail across the Bicol Region, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Southern Leyte due to the easterlies. Moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, or "amihan," will bring rains across Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao. It will also cause isolated light rains in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon. The rest of the country will experience isolated rain s howers due to the shear line and localized thunderstorms. Strong winds and rough seas are forecast in Northern Luzon, while moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail in the rest of Luzon and the eastern section of the Visayas. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. Meanwhile, as of 2 a.m., no low-pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA said.
