Second Tranche of Wage Increase in Caraga to Take Effect on Labor Day

Caraga: The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Caraga (RTWPB-13) has announced that the second tranche of a wage increase in the Caraga region will take effect on May 1, coinciding with the 124th Labor Day celebration. This adjustment involves a PHP20 increase, as part of the PHP40.00 minimum wage increase mandated by Wage Order No. RXIII-20, which initially came into effect on January 3.

According to Philippines News Agency, the implementation of the first tranche on January 3 raised the minimum wage for workers in the region to PHP455. With the new increase, the minimum wage will now stand at PHP475. RTWPB-13 lawyer Lorainne Sacote confirmed this update during an interview on Friday.

In a separate statement, RTWPB-13 Board Secretary IV Earl dela Victoria emphasized the importance of compliance with the new minimum wage. Employers are urged to adhere strictly to the wage order, and employees are encouraged to report any establishments failing to follow the current wage requirements.
