SHAH ALAM, The Selangor Sultan Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today accepted the apology request of Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, forgiving him for making insulting and disrespectful statements at a political talk last year. In a letter of consent for forgiveness shared on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page, Sultan Sharafuddin said that the apology was accepted in the spirit of brotherhood among Muslims and the Malays. "I do not want Muslims to be in conflict with one another. (They) should always forgive if the one seeking forgiveness is sincere in their request," said the Ruler. Sultan Sharafuddin also advised Muhammad Sanusi to always be mindful of his words, observe decencies, and not be overly emotional or use inappropriate language when addressing the public, especially while he is in Selangor. This is because His Royal Highness does not want the people, particularly Selangorians, to be influenced or accustomed to hearing harsh words and baseless accusations, especially from leaders. "Good behaviour and verbal expression are crucial for your political career, Datuk Seri. As a leader, you must consider the impact of every action you take," His Royal Highness said. At the end of the letter, Sultan Sharafuddin also prayed for Muhammad Sanusi's continuous success and for him to be facilitated in carrying out his duties and responsibilities.
