Sen. Legarda Commits to Help Improve Antique Hospitals

Antique: Senator Loren Legarda has pledged her support to enhance the healthcare infrastructure in Antique, aligning with the priority program of Governor Paolo Everardo Javier to improve 10 hospitals in the province. Legarda, a native of Antique, announced her commitment following the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected officials at Evelio B. Javier Freedom Park.

According to Philippines News Agency, Legarda emphasized her dedication to ensuring that no needy family is turned away from healthcare services. She highlighted the importance of improving hospitals that have been devolved by the Department of Health (DOH) and assured that efforts will be made to secure adequate healthcare for children across Antique's nine districts and one provincial hospital.

Governor Javier, in his inaugural address, echoed Legarda's sentiments, pledging to provide better healthcare by equipping hospitals with necessary equipment and medicine supplies. He also aims to implement a 'zero' billing policy for impoverished patients to alleviate financial burdens.

Furthermore, Javier proposed offering financial relief to approximately 115,000 consumers of the Antique Electric Cooperative and those under the Aklan Electric Cooperative. He suggested a PHP500 monthly subsidy to make power more accessible and affordable for Antique±os.

Meanwhile, Lone District Representative Antonio Agapito Legarda expressed his commitment to prioritizing government support where it is most needed, promising to collaborate effectively with Governor Javier for the benefit of Antique residents.
