Severe Tropical Storm Emong Causes Cancellation of 35 Flights

Manila: Thirty-five domestic and international flights have been canceled so far on Friday due to the inclement weather caused by Severe Tropical Storm Emong and the southwest monsoon. The canceled flights involve major airlines including Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air, and AirSWIFT.

According to Philippines News Agency, the affected flights primarily operate between major cities and regional destinations. Philippine Airlines has canceled flights such as PR 407 from Osaka to Manila and several local routes including Manila to Laoag and Manila to Basco, among others. Cebu Pacific Air has also canceled multiple routes, including flights from Davao to Manila and Manila to Tuguegarao. Similarly, AirSWIFT has seen cancellations on its routes between Manila and El Nido, as well as El Nido to Cebu.

Passengers affected by these cancellations have the option to avail of free rebooking, rerouting, or refunds for their tickets. The weather disturbance continues to bring heavy rains and strong winds, particularly across the Luzon region, affecting travel plans and causing significant disruptions.
