Shear Line and ‘Amihan’ to Bring Rainy Weather to Luzon

Manila: The shear line and the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan," are forecasted to bring rains across northern and central Luzon on Tuesday. According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated in its 4 a.m. weather bulletin that the shear line will result in cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in regions such as the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, and Quezon. Batanes and Ilocos Norte will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the influence of the "amihan." Meanwhile, Metro Manila, along with the rest of the Ilocos Region and Central Luzon, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also attributed to the amihan. Further, a low pressure area was located about 390 kilometers west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, as of 3 a.m., and it is expected to cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thun derstorms in the Kalayaan Islands. In other regions, the easterlies will lead to partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas. The remainder of the country is set to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
