Maslog: Preemptive evacuations displaced 238 families in Maslog, Eastern Samar, after heavy rains from a shear line caused the Maslog River to overflow Monday. In a statement Tuesday, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) reported 944 individuals were affected, with evacuees including senior citizens, pregnant women, and children. They are sheltered in barangay halls and schools.

According to Philippines News Agency, flooding also caused several roads and bridges to become impassable, while power interruptions were reported in three barangays. Continuous rainfall further disrupted communication signals, including internet connectivity, although the local government unit maintained internet access.

MDRRMO chief Karen Santiago was quoted as saying that no casualties or injuries have been reported. Classes are suspended, and authorities have prepositioned over 1,400 family food packs from the local government and DSWD.

Search and rescue assets are on standby as continuous monitoring and assessments continue, the MDRRMO said.
