Antique: The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) will recommend the provision of shelter materials to families whose houses were damaged due to inclement weather. 'I will be recommending to Governor Paolo Everardo Javier the provision of shelter materials to those families with damaged houses so they could repair their homes,' PDRRMO chief Broderick Train said in an interview on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the heavy rainfall brought by the enhanced southwest monsoon damaged 28 houses and caused a landslide in the province over the weekend, Train added. The Municipality of Culasi reported the most number of damaged houses; two were destroyed, and 23 were partially damaged. The other destroyed house was from the town of San Jose de Buenavista, and the two remaining partially damaged houses were from Patnongon and Pandan.

The affected families are staying with relatives or friends while others opted to stay in their homes. Due to non-stop rains, a landslide also occurred in the Municipality of Bugasong. Classes resumed, but learners were advised to be extra careful and always bring umbrellas and raincoats.

Train added that they are currently on blue alert status, together with their municipal counterparts in the 18 towns. 'On Monday, a yellow rainfall warning was raised in Antique, experiencing a heavy rain of 7.5 to 15 millimeters per hour,' Train said. The province is forecasted to be under the yellow rainfall warning until Wednesday.
