Siargao Residents to Benefit from DENR ‘Services on Wheels’

Siargao: The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 13 (Caraga Region) has announced the launch of its 'Services on Wheels' program, which will be available across Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte from October 9 to 29.

According to Philippines News Agency, this initiative is led by the Project Management Office of the Siargao Island Protected Landscape and Seascape. The program is designed to assist residents in avoiding the lengthy journey to mainland Mindanao, thereby reducing additional travel expenses for various transactions.

The mobile services will be made available in the towns of San Benito and Del Carmen from October 9 to 29, and in the municipalities of Santa Monica and Burgos from October 10 to 24. The initiative aims to provide a range of services, including processing applications for tree cutting and transport of forest products, chainsaw registration, free patent application, and online applications for environmental clearance certificates.

Residents will also have the opportunity to process applications for permits to operate, wastewater discharge permits, hazardous waste generator registration, and waste clearance.
