Solomon Leads Hopefuls in 2026 PVL Rookie Draft

Manila: A total of 42 players are joining the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Draft on June 3 at the Novotel Manila Araneta City. Leading the field is Alyssa Solomon from the multi-titled National University, who played in the Japan SV.League.

According to Philippines News Agency, the 6-foot-1 opposite spiker played 30 games for the Osaka Marvelous, scoring 147 points built on 116 attacks, 27 blocks, and four aces. The draft pool features a notable crop of UAAP aces, including two-time Best Setter Camilla Lamina (NU), two-time Best Libero Bernadett "Detdet" Pepito (UST), and four-time Best Middle Blocker Ni±a Ytang (UP).

Other UAAP standouts are Jonna Perdido and Xyza Gula (UST); Irah Jaboneta, Joan Monares, Heart Magsombol, and Jum Gayo (UP); Tin Ubaldo, Ann Asis, and Florize Papa (FEU); Ela Raagas, Michelle Beterina, and Sophia Sindayen (De La Salle); KC Cepada, Tin Ecalla, and Kayce Balingit (UE); Barbie Jamili (Adamson); and Taks Fujimoto (Ateneo). Filipino-American Jade Fuentes of Cal State Dominguez Hills, who previously played for La Salle, is also joining the draft.

The NCAA is represented by Lara Mae Silva, Natalie Estreller, and Julienne Castro (Letran); Katherine Santos, Christina Marasigan, and Kristine Dionisio (San Sebastian College); Marianne Alona and Gayle Batara (Jose Rizal University); Johna Dolorito, Jericha Lopez, and Janeth Tulang (Lyceum of the Philippines University); Grace Cabadin and Alyanna Ong (Mapua); Erin Navarro (San Beda University); and Fianne Ariola (University of Perpetual Help).

Completing the list are 5-foot-9 middle blocker Kirsty Destajo (University of Nueva Caceres-Sorsogon); Angel Galinato (University of San Carlos); Jesska Sacay and Marjorie Orpilla (Immaculada Concepcion College); and Lyca Dela Pe±a (Polytechnic University of the Philippines).

Meanwhile, the PVL hopefuls are set to showcase their skills at the mandatory Draft Combine from May 28 to 29 at the Gameville Ballpark in Mandaluyong City. Applicants have until June 1 to withdraw their names from the draft pool.

The draft lottery took place Sunday night at the TV5 Media Center, determining the order of the top four picks for the PVL Draft. Capital1 holds the highest probability of securing the No. 1 overall pick at 40 percent, following a 9.05 weighted average across three conferences. The formula agreed upon by all teams before the 2025-26 season weights the All-Filipino Conference at 75 percent, the Reinforced Conference at 15 percent, and the PVL On Tour at 10 percent.

Galeries Tower holds a 30 percent chance with a 9.0 weighted average, while ZUS Coffee (20 percent) and Choco Mucho (10 percent) complete the lottery odds.
