Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s penultimate State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27 will feature a simple yet dignified program, Malaca±ang announced Monday. The event will exclude celebrity directors and high-profile performances, focusing instead on the President's message and legislative agenda.

According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated that preparations for the annual address are being coordinated with the House of Representatives, which hosts the event. The emphasis will be on ensuring the program's simplicity and dignity, reflecting the significance of the national event.

"The SONA program will be simple. There will be no celebrity directors or big A-list performers," Castro confirmed during a Palace press briefing. "It will be simple but dignified, befitting a national event such as the SONA."

When asked about the President's speech, Castro did not provide specific details but assured that preparations are underway. She also mentioned that a performer has been selected to sing the national anthem, though their identity remains undisclosed for now.

President Marcos is scheduled to deliver his fifth SONA before a joint session of Congress on July 27. The address serves as the President's annual report to the nation, outlining the administration's accomplishments, priorities, and legislative agenda.
