Speed Skater Groseclose Secures Silver in SEA Games

Bangkok: Winter Youth Olympian Peter Groseclose settled for the silver medal in the men's 1500m short track speed skating event at the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand on Friday. The Filipino-American skater from Los Angeles, California led with nine laps to go in the competition.

According to Philippines News Agency, in the first turn of the final lap, Thailand's Taprom Chonlacharit saw an opening and overtook Groseclose to skate to the gold. Groseclose finished with a time of 02:26:207, trailing behind Chonlacharit who clocked in at 02:25:800.

Indonesia's Firdaus Marva Kayana Putra secured the bronze medal with a time of 02:26:931. In addition to this event, Groseclose also qualified for the finals in both the 500m and open relay categories.
