Legazpi: The Social Security System (SSS) Legazpi Branch is set to deploy an array of services to the remote villages of Manito, Albay. On Wednesday, for the first time, the branch will implement facial authentication with a liveness check for pensioner verification during its mobile operations.
According to Philippines News Agency, the branch's e-wheels caravan will cater to 12 far-flung barangays at Manito Community College in It-Ba, Manito town, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday. This initiative is spearheaded by branch spokesperson Jeannette Mapa, who emphasized that it aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to expedite and bring public services closer to the people, especially in underserved and hard-to-reach areas. Notably, Legazpi City is over 40 kilometers away from Manito.
Mapa explained, "The public will have direct access to our office's services, which will reduce travel time and save on transportation expenses." This marks a significant step forward in ensuring that residents of remote areas can easily access essential services.
The SSS will utilize the newly launched facial authentication with a liveness check for the Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) verification. This advancement allows eligible pensioners to complete their verification process more swiftly and conveniently without the need to visit SSS branches physically.
The mobile caravan will also facilitate employer registration, inquiries, and verification, alongside ACOP verification. Additionally, it will handle updating of member data records, issuance of SSS numbers and forms, and various online-related transactions. These transactions include My.SSS registration, password resetting, Payment Reference Number generation, pension loan applications, and benefit claim applications.
