Antique: The strong partnership between the Department of Education (DepEd) in Antique and the local police ensured the safety of learners in Antique. Schools Division of Antique Superintendent, Dr. Ernesto Servillon Jr., during the culminating activity of the 31st Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration at the headquarters of the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) on Friday, cited the efforts of the local police in maintaining peace and order in schools, such as the conduct of mobile patrols and enhanced visibility.
According to Philippines News Agency, Servillon stated, "So far, we have no report of any untoward incidents in school premises." He further explained that APPO recently conducted a briefing on security measures and a bomb awareness seminar for security guards and watchmen of DepEd Antique.
Meanwhile, the recognition of performing municipal police stations, police personnel, and stakeholders highlighted the PCR Month culminating ceremony in the province. Antique Provincial Police Office Director Col. Ryan Devaras awarded San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Police Station (MPS) for topping the Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER), followed by the local police stations of Culasi and Valderrama in second and third spots, respectively, for the MPS category.
The Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company was the lone awardee for the Provincial Mobile Force category. The Barbaza MPS and the San Jose de Buenavista MPS were recognized as Best Police Community Affairs and Development Units. The MPS of Libertad, Caluya, and Pandan were recognized for having the most social media engagements.
Individual awardees included Staff Sergeant Sheena May Diones of Culasi MPS as Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer and Master Sergeants Jomer Ybut of Culasi MPS and Jenny Camus of San Jose de Buenavista MPS as Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officers. Jacqueline Elizalde Panaguiton from San Jose MPS received the Stakeholder Award. Special awards were also given to the Antique Philippine National Police Press Corps, Eva Abajencia, and Pastor Ismael Marcelino.
