Takahashi and Global Volleyball Stars Rally Fans for FIVB Championship Support

Manila: The world's elite players have sent messages to global fans, urging them to attend the FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship next month at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and Mall of Asia Arena. Ran Takahashi, a favorite in the Philippines during the Volleyball Nations League, and the world No. 5 Japanese squad lead Asia's participation in the 32-nation event, which begins on Sept. 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

According to Philippines News Agency, Takahashi expressed excitement about the upcoming tournament. "We can't wait to welcome volleyball fans from all over the world. Tickets now on sale! See you at the venues!" the 6-foot-2 outside hitter stated in a news release. He encouraged fans to attend, highlighting the presence of top volleyball players in the Philippines for the World Championship. Takahashi, who plays for the Suntory Sunbirds club, will see action on Sept. 13 against Trkiye in Pool G, which also includes Canada and Libya. Tickets for the event are available via the official website.

The tournament will kick off with a match between Alas Pilipinas and Tunisia on Sept. 12, following the opening ceremony featuring K-Pop group BOYNEXTDOOR. Pool A also includes Egypt and Iran, led by outside hitter Poriya Hossein Khanzadeh. The event is organized by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation, headed by president Ramon 'Tats' Suzara.

Ricardo Lucarelli, representing world No. 3 and VNL third-placer Brazil, called on fans to get ready for the event, emphasizing the significance of the championship. Poland, the VNL titlist and world No. 1, and Italy, the defending world champion, are also set to compete. Slovenia, aiming for a podium finish after placing fourth in the previous world championship and in the VNL, is eager to perform. Slovenia's team leader, Rok Mozic, invited fans to purchase tickets and be part of the championship in the Philippines.
