Tandag city: The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CDRRM) Council in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur has activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and raised its alert status to 'blue' ahead of the New Year celebration.
According to Philippines News Agency, Acting Mayor Hyna Jean Boniao signed Executive Order (EO) No. 52, series of 2025, on Tuesday afternoon. This order enhances the EOC's emergency preparedness and establishes a proactive monitoring and response system in anticipation of increased mobility during the New Year celebrations.
The executive order mandates the CDRRM Office to coordinate responses and preparedness efforts, monitor the situation, and provide timely updates to the public. The directive is aimed at ensuring continuous coordination of efforts, closely monitoring the situation, and implementing security and safety measures for the safe observance of the event. The operations center of the CDRRM Office will maintain the Blue alert level status throughout the New Year celebration from December 31, 2025, until January 1, 2026.
The CDRRM Office is also responsible for monitoring developments, coordinating with concerned agencies, and issuing advisories as necessary. Furthermore, all barangay governments in Tandag City are instructed to remain fully alert and report any incidents or developments within their areas during this period.
