Manila: Three weather systems will continue to affect most parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday. In its 4 a.m. advisory, the weather bureau detailed how various regions are being impacted by these systems, with warnings of possible flashfloods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Visayas and the provinces of Palawan, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Romblon are experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms, primarily due to the shear line. Similarly, Caraga is facing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms because of the easterlies.

The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, is causing cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and the rest of the Bicol Region. PAGASA has indicated that these weather systems may lead to flashfloods or landslides in the affected areas because of moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the remainder of Luzon are seeing cloudy skies with light rains, also due to the amihan, but these conditions are not expected to have a significant impact. Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao is experiencing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, attributed to the easterlies. Severe thunderstorms in these areas could potentially result in flashfloods or landslides.

Moreover, strong to gale northeast winds and rough to very rough coastal waters are anticipated over the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to strong northeast to east winds and moderate to rough seas, while Mindanao will experience light to moderate northeast to north winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
