Surigao del sur: Tropical Depression (TD) Verbena has made a significant impact as it landed over Bayabas, Surigao del Sur, and is currently advancing over Agusan del Norte. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) disclosed this development in its 5 p.m. bulletin on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the cyclone was last observed in the vicinity of Jabonga, traveling west-northwestward at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour (kph). It carries maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near its center, with gusts reaching up to 75 kph.

Strong winds are expected to affect regions under Signal No. 1, including Romblon, the northern and central portions of Palawan, various islands, and parts of Mindoro, Visayas, and Mindanao. The specific areas include parts of Masbate, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Cebu, Bohol, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and several areas in northern Mindanao.

PAGASA has maintained a gale warning over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon. The tropical depression is predicted to accelerate across the Visayas and northern Palawan between Monday night and Tuesday night, with expectations to emerge over the West Philippine Sea by Wednesday. There is a possibility that TD Verbena may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday.
