Manila: Tropical Storm Domeng has shown signs of intensification, now carrying maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near its center, with gustiness reaching up to 105 kilometers per hour, as reported in the latest bulletin released by the weather bureau on Friday at 11 a.m.

According to Philippines News Agency, Domeng was last detected 1,265 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon and is moving northwestward at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour. Currently, no wind signal has been raised over any part of the country, as Domeng is not expected to directly impact the nation's weather conditions within the next 24 hours, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA has noted that despite the lack of direct impact, Domeng is enhancing the southwesterly windflow, which is anticipated to result in heavy rainfall over the country's western regions starting Sunday. Additionally, this enhanced windflow is expected to generate strong to gale-force gusts across many areas beginning Saturday.

Domeng is projected to continue its intensification and may achieve typhoon status by Saturday while it remains over the Philippine Sea. Following this, the tropical cyclone is expected to gradually weaken. PAGASA has indicated that Domeng is unlikely to make landfall and may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday.
