MANILA Scattered rains will prevail over Bicol and eastern Visayas due to the trough of Tropical Storm Jelawat (international name), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 4-p.m. weather bulletin effective for 24 hours, PAGASA said the Bicol region and eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the trough of TS Jelawat. It also cautioned of possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderate rains to occasional heavy rains in these areas.
TS Jelawat, locally called "Caloy", left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday evening.
Metro Manila and the other parts of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by local thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough coastal waters are expected over the northern and eastern section of the country brought by moderate to strong winds.
Other areas will have slight to moderate coastal waters pushed by slight to moderate winds.
