Manila: United States President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he decided to cancel a planned military strike against Iran. The decision comes after Iran, along with unspecified other Middle Eastern nations, requested additional time to work out the framework of a peace agreement, with Israel also committing to the initiative.

According to Philippines News Agency, Trump conveyed via his social media platform, Truth Social, that the involved parties have reached an agreement on the "perimeters" of a potential peace deal. This agreement reportedly includes the "immediate, complete, and total" reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and aims to address the cessation of Iran's nuclear activities.

President Trump expressed that his decision to call off the military strike was made in consideration of the "future benefit of the WORLD" and the "survival of a successful and prosperous Iran." However, he noted that this decision is contingent upon the swift finalization of a deal by all parties involved.

Trump emphasized that the United States remains prepared to act with unprecedented military force if necessary, stating that the nation's military capabilities are "locked and loaded" and ready to respond to threats from the Islamic Republic of Iran. He underscored that this level of readiness has not been seen since World War II.

The President also mentioned that Israel is committed to refraining from military action as part of the peace efforts. He urged all parties to expedite the negotiation process, stating, "Get to work, everybody, and get it DONE."
