Clark: A technical vocational and education (TVET) center will soon rise in Clark, Pampanga, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) announced on Thursday. According to Philippines News Agency, TESDA has partnered with the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for the establishment of the TVET innovation center, which will be funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The center aims to modernize training programs in warehouse and logistics management and big data analytics, offering advanced facilities such as intelligent warehousing areas, electronics and robotics laboratories, fabrication workshops, and incubation spaces for startups. Moreover, the center will prioritize research, enterprise education, and workforce upskilling, collaborating with the Gonzalo Puyat School of Arts and Trades (GPSAT) to deliver industry-aligned training. TESDA Director General, Secretary Jose Francisco Benitez, recently signed a deed of usufruct with CDC President Agnes Devanadera. Benitez emphasiz ed the importance of collaboration with industries to fast-track reskilling and upskilling initiatives. He stated that transforming the TVET ecosystem will enhance trainees' technical skills and ensure a steady supply of a workforce that is best-job fit and ready, which promotes full employment and facilitates broader economic transition. TESDA is committed to providing Filipinos with opportunities to increase employability, productivity, and competitiveness. Benitez also highlighted the necessity of forging partnerships with enterprises to address the gaps in skills and human resource needs of economic sectors, equipping Filipinos with skills for work. Recently, TESDA gathered over 600 stakeholders in a TVET forum in Clark, where topics such as area-based demand-driven TVET, micro-credentialing, and enterprise-based training programs were discussed.
