Zamboanga: The police arrested two drug suspects after yielding PHP1.7 million of suspected shabu in a buy-bust here over the weekend. The suspects, aged 35 and 60, were nabbed at 5:02 p.m. in Moret Field, Barangay Baliwasan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Brig. Gen. Edwin Quilates said in his report Sunday.

According to Philippines News Agency, seized during the operation were some 250 grams of suspected shabu and buy-bust money. Following their arrest, the suspects were brought to the Regional Forensic Unit-9 for drug testing and subsequently to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for medical examination, Quilates noted in his report.

The suspects were placed under the temporary custody of the Zamboanga City Police Station 11, as charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared against them.
