Two Killed in Separate Gun Attacks in Maguindanao Sur

Maguindanao del Sur: Police in Maguindanao del Sur have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in two separate killings on Monday. In Rajah Buayan town, two suspected motorcycle thieves shot and killed a motorist around 4 p.m. and fled with his motorbike.

According to Philippines News Agency, Capt. Joel Lebrilla, the municipal police chief, identified the victim as Ja-ar Palabrica, 25, of Koronadal City. Palabrica had stopped his motorbike in Barangay Gauan while his companion, identified only as 'Jun,' stepped away to relieve himself. While Palabrica waited, two men on another motorbike arrived and shot him twice in the head before fleeing with his vehicle. 'Jun' witnessed the incident but was unharmed.

Capt. Lebrilla stated, "It is unclear why Palabrica and his companion were in Rajah Buayan, about 80 kilometers from Koronadal City," adding that investigators are pursuing several persons of interest. Meanwhile, in Buluan town, police are searching for two gunmen who shot and killed a laborer around 3 p.m. on the same day.

Colonel Bobby Paloma, Maguindanao del Sur provincial police director, identified the victim as Nogie Sulaiman Kamenza, 54, of Barangay Poblacion. Kamenza was sitting on his motorbike when he was attacked, dying instantly. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
