Manila: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked the driver's license of a vlogger, Ishi Lee, for driving a motorcycle while her license was suspended due to multiple prior violations.
According to Philippines News Agency, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao announced that a Supplemental Order had been issued against Lee for continuing to drive without a valid driver's license. Her violations include reckless driving, driving without a valid license, distracted driving under Republic Act 10913, and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle under Republic Act 4136.
Lacanilao emphasized that the rules and regulations of the LTO are mandatory and that ignoring them results in immediate liabilities and penalties under the law. Lee has been fined, had her driver's license revoked, and is disqualified from applying for a new license for two years. Her motorcycle has been impounded until its registration is complete and all fines and penalties are paid.
Lacanilao stated that the LTO will not tolerate repeated or blatant violations of road laws and that individuals who continue to violate these laws will be penalized to ensure public safety. He also instructed law enforcement agencies to arrest Lee if she is found driving on public roads again.
The decision to revoke Lee's license follows an incident where she was suspended after a viral video showed her driving while filming herself. Lee and the registered owner of the motorcycle were issued show-cause orders but failed to attend the scheduled investigation. In a Facebook post, Lee mentioned that her initial suspension was for three months, later extended to one year before the revocation, and claimed she did not receive the show-cause order until her apprehension.
