Warm weather, isolated rain showers to prevail across PH

MANILA: Most areas in the country will experience warm weather and isolated rain showers, the weather bureau said Thursday. "The easterlies will continue to cause warm weather over most of the country, and will also bring rains over parts of Mindanao," Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. Estareja said fair weather and minimal chances of rains will prevail across Luzon. Up to 33 °C temperature is forecast in Tuguegarao, and up to 32 °C in Metro Manila. Most of the Visayas, he said, will experience up to 31 °C temperature, and isolated rain showers likely in the afternoon. PAGASA forecast the easterlies to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region. Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods and landslides. "The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, and rains are also likely in the afternoon through evening," Estareja said. Up to 33 °C temperature is expected in Zamboanga and Davao, but Estareja said higher heat index or the temperature that a person feels could be experienced in parts of Mindanao. Meanwhile, he said no tropical cyclone is expected to develop or enter the country. Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail across Northern Luzon. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. Source: Philippines News Agency
