A local health official reiterated the call for the public to continue to practice the minimum health protocols as the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) remains a threat to the community.
Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said the active cases of Covid-19 have increased to 116 as of Tuesday.
Miravite said the public should also be vigilant, especially in attending public gatherings, which is allowed as the city is under Alert Level 1 status.
“Although we are under Alert Level 1, we should continue practicing the minimum health standards, especially the wearing of masks,” she said.
Miravite advised the public to immediately seek medical consultation and “as much as possible to isolate” if they have a cough, colds, and fever.
“They should also undergo a swab test so that in case they are positive, they will no longer spread the infection,” she added.
She said that some active cases are admitted in the hospitals while some are at the isolation facility of the city.
Of the total active cases, 113 are from the community and the remaining three are authorized persons outside residence.
The health status of the active cases are as follows: 52.6 percent are asymptomatic; 33.6 percent mild; 8.6 percent moderate; and, 5.2 percent with severe symptoms.
