Zamboanga city: The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) recognized five of its personnel for their exemplary performance, dedication, and professionalism in fulfilling their duties. ZCPO Director Col. Fidel Fortaleza Jr. led the awarding of medals and commendations to five deserving personnel during a simple ceremony held at the city police headquarters on Monday morning.
According to Philippines News Agency, the recognitions highlight the efforts of police officers who consistently go beyond expectations to ensure the safety and security of the city. A Medalya ng Papuri (PNP Commendation Medal) was awarded to Senior M/Sgt. Rowell Gatdula for his performance and devotion to duty during an operation on July 27 in Barangay Talon-Talon, which resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the confiscation of a .22-caliber pistol with ammunition.
Similarly, Cpl. Alsamier Abdurajad received a commendation medal for his performance and dedication during an operation on Sept. 8 in Barangay Mampang. The operation led to the arrest of the city's tenth most wanted person for the crime of statutory rape.
Meanwhile, a letter of commendation was presented to S/Sgt. Celona Cecilla Torres for her dedication to duty during the area security operations on Nov. 28 in Barangay Sinunuc, which took place during the visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other dignitaries.
Also, a commendation letter was awarded to Corporal Al-Mahatir Siraji for his performance during the Police Community Affairs and Development Course (PCADC), where he obtained a rating of 95 percent and ranked Top 1 in class conducted from Aug. 28 to Oct. 30 at Camp Col. Romeo Abendan in this city.
Additionally, a commendation letter was issued to Corporal Lito Jay Asedin for his performance during the same course, in which he received a rating of 94.59 percent and ranked second in class. Fortaleza said the commendations highlight ZCPO's dedication to excellence, integrity, and professionalism, inspiring officers to strengthen their commitment to protecting city residents.
