Caraga logs over 3K Covid-19 recoveries in 5 days

A total of 3,036 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries were recorded in Caraga Region from February 2 to 6, data from the Department of Health in Caraga ((DOH-13) indicated Monday.

The highest number of recoveries recorded during the period was 1,370 on Feb. 2 and 679 on February 6.

The region also recorded a total of 975 new Covid-19 infections during the period, with the highest 284 on February 3.

In its Covid-19 tracker report on Sunday, the DOH-13 said recoveries from the disease are now at 53,235 from the total cumulative infections of 57,737 since the pandemic was declared in March 2020.

With the continued increase of recoveries and lower infections, the number of active cases in the region has decreased to 2,519 as of Monday, from the record of 3,481last February 2.

Meanwhile, the DOH-13 also reported that 1,288,628 individuals in the region have been fully vaccinated as of Sunday.

“The total number of vaccinated individuals represents 57.31 percent of the target population for vaccination in Caraga Region,” the DOH-13 said.

The agency added that a total of 89,269 booster shots have also been administered in the area on the same day.

To date, it said a total of 2,652,519 Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far in the region.
