The city health office has boosted its vaccination rollout here as it started using the “Bakuna Bus” to reach more constituents.

Dr. Meyasser Patadon, city health office (CHO) chief, said Friday the “Bakuna Bus,” the city’s mobile vaccination facility, has started reaching out to persons under the A1 (health front-liners), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (persons with comorbidities), who remained unvaccinated.

“I am willing to be vaccinated but the hub is far from my place,” said Delia Camus, 79, of Barangay Kalanganan.

She was one of those vaccinated under the “Bakuna Bus” program, an initiative of Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi for the city’s geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA).

“The bus will continue to visit the GIDA on a scheduled basis,” Patadon said.

To date, the city has served 25,242 individuals who are now all fully vaccinated.

On Thursday, Patadon said the CHO has inoculated some 1,598 individuals for first and second doses.

“Individuals who wish to avail of free vaccines from the city health are advised to register online and wait for the scheduled vaccination schedule,” he said.

Patadon advised those fully vaccinated to maintain observing health protocols, especially wearing face masks and physical distancing with other people in public and crowded places.
