Fair weather, isolated rains over PH Wednesday

Fair weather and isolated rain showers will be experienced over most parts of the country, a weather forecaster said on Wednesday.

“Currently, we are not monitoring any weather disturbance. (Former) Tropical Depression Emong already dissipated. The LPA (low-pressure area) that we were monitoring is continuously moving away from the country,” Benison Estareja of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The southwest monsoon, he said, will bring rains over Palawan. Rains will be experienced mostly in the afternoon, and residents are advised to take precautions against flooding.

Meanwhile, fair weather will prevail over the rest of Luzon.

“Isolated rains that may last for one to two hours will be experienced, especially in the afternoon,” Estareja said.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast over the Caraga and Davao regions. Residents near rivers are also advised to take precautions against flooding.

Southern Mindanao will experience rains, while the rest of the Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

“Warm noon is likely for the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao. Rains may be experienced due to localized thunderstorms,” he added.

No gale warning is currently in effect, Estareja said.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are forecast to prevail over the entire archipelago
