Tarlac City rolls out initial batch of Pfizer vaccines

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The city government of Tarlac on Wednesday started giving residents its initial allocation of Pfizer coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines.

Mayor Cristy Angeles said the city government has initially received 975 vials of Pfizer vaccines that can inoculate 2,922 individuals belonging to the A1 to A3 priority groups.

Angeles said they already prepared an ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezer that can store 23,400 up to 35,100 vials of this vaccine brand.

Since the available slots per day are limited, the process of vaccination was properly conducted for senior citizens and persons with comorbidities who registered online, she noted.

The mayor said the inoculation using Pfizer vaccine is more complicated since one vial is good for six persons.

She said the city government is monitoring those vaccinated for any possible side effects.

“Maigting na bilin naman sa mga nakapag-register na kabilang sa priority groups na A2-senior citizen at A3-person with comorbidity na strictly no walk-ins at hintayin lamang ang text message mula ANGEL NEWS upang malaman ang schedule ng kanilang pagpapabakuna (Those who registered belonging to priority groups A2-senior citizens and A3-person person with comorbidity were strictly reminded that there are no walk-ins accommodated and just wait for text message from ANGEL NEWS to determine the schedule of their immunization),” Angeles said in an official social media post.

As of June 29, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the city is 3,201, out of which 361 are active infections. The total number of recoveries is 2,703 while the total number of deaths is 137.
