Legazpi city: Ten new patrol vehicles were turned over to various municipal and city police stations in the region to boost visibility and response in communities, the Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO-5) reported on Friday. The vehicles were procured by the Philippine National Police national headquarters as part of its commitment to operational readiness, efficient logistics support, and the maintenance of peace and order.
According to Philippines News Agency, the 4x4 vehicles were dispatched Thursday to the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes. In particular, the vehicles were issued to the municipal police stations of Daraga, Santo Domingo, Malilipot, and the Legazpi City Police Station, all under the Albay Provincial Police Office (PPO); Presentacion, Sag±ay, San Jose, and Tigaon under the Camarines Sur PPO; and Bato and Caramoran under the Catanduanes PPO.
During Thursday's blessing and turnover ceremony at Camp Brig. Gen. Simeon A. Ola, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda reminded personnel to maintain the vehicles, stressing that they were acquired through public funds and must be used responsibly. "Use it properly, use it well so that our citizens feel us and deliver fast, honest and tangible service," Miranda said in Filipino.
