Manila: The death toll from a landslide that struck Indonesia's Central Java province has risen to 11, while 12 individuals remain missing as search and rescue operations continue, according to an official. According to Philippines News Agency, M. Abdullah, head of the Search and Rescue Office in Cilacap, where the landslide occurred, stated that authorities are persisting in their search efforts for the remaining 12 victims after discovering 11 victims deceased. Abdullah expressed hope that all 12 missing individuals who are still buried can be found, as reported by the local broadcaster Kompas TV. Abdullah noted that during Sunday's rescue operation, his team mobilized hundreds of personnel and several heavy machines, including excavators. "We have deployed 21 excavators, 17 compressor support tools, nine search dogs, and more than 600 personnel," he said. On Friday, Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency reported that 20 people were missing and three were confirmed dead following the landslide in Cilacap on Thursday.
