11,429 Examinees Return for Day 2 of Bar Exams

Manila: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday announced that 11,429 examinees returned for the second day of the Bar examinations on September 10. This follows a record high of 11,437 examinees on the first day, September 7, where aspiring lawyers tackled exams on Political and Public International Law in the morning, and Commercial and Taxation Laws in the afternoon.

According to Philippines News Agency, on Day 2, the examinees faced questions on Civil Law in the morning and Labor Law and Social Legislations in the afternoon. The examinations are set to continue on September 14, with Criminal Law in the morning and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises in the afternoon.

Members of the SC, led by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo and 2025 Bar Chairperson and Associate Justice Amy Lazaro-Javier, visited the 14 local testing centers nationwide on September 10 to personally observe the conduct of the exams. Gesmundo visited Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) in Iligan City, while Lazaro-Javier toured the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) in the morning and later flew to Cebu to visit the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R).

The SC ensured accessibility for examinees with disabilities. Court stenographers assisted blind examinees and a bilateral amputee by transcribing dictated answers. These stenographers have no law background to maintain fairness.

As the final day of the Bar Exams approaches, Lazaro-Javier encouraged the examinees to dispel doubts about their past performances and focus on giving their best efforts. She urged them to finish strong, knowing they have dedicated themselves fully to achieving their dreams.
