Thirteen out of the 262 high-impact projects planned under the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) are in the implementation stage, the Selangor State Legislative Assembly was told today. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said that two other projects are already in the design and planning stages while five more are in the concept and initial stages. "… (all) 20 high-impact projects cut across the four cores, namely seven for strengthening the economy, three for improving social well-being and inclusion, five for driving sustainability and five for enhancing smart and effective governance,' he said. He said this when tabling the mid-term review of the RS-1 at the state assembly sitting today. Amirudin said that among the projects involved were the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA), the Southern Selangor Integrated Regional Development Project (IDRISS), the Selangor Aero Park (SAP) and the third port on Carey Island. He said that after the reevaluation of the RS-1, the number of projects, programmes and initiat ives (PPI) has now increased from 262 to 282 as a result of the state's decision to align its plans and policies with the Federal government, such as the MADANI Economy framework, New Industrial Master Plan 2030 and Energy Transition Roadmap. "As of 2023, of the 282 PPIs, 18 per cent of 52 of these initiatives have been completed, while the remaining 82 per cent (230 PPIs) are ongoing and expected to continue until or beyond 2025,' he said.
