1K police to man ‘Undas’ in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY - The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga) will deploy 1,081 police officers across the region to ensure public safety during All Saints' and All Souls' Days, also known as 'Undas.' In a statement Wednesday, PRO-13 identified priority areas as cemeteries, memorial parks, churches, public terminals, ports, and other high-traffic locations. Operational guidelines have been provided to all provincial police offices, the Butuan City Police Office, and mobile forces, outlining specific law enforcement measures for the holiday period, it added. 'PRO-13 has also established additional security measures to thwart any criminal acts by lawless elements,' Brig. Gen. Alan Nazarro, PRO-13 director, was quoted in the statement as saying. He added that 750 additional personnel and 778 volunteers would serve as force multipliers throughout the observance. Nazarro urged the public to cooperate with security protocols, especially at checkpoints, to ensure a peaceful and orderly Undas commemoration, particu larly on Nov. 1 and 2.
