CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan - The Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) has deployed nearly 900 personnel across the province to secure the observance of 'Undas' or All Saints' and All Souls' Days on Nov. 1 and 2, respectively. BPPO director Col. Satur Ediong, in a statement Wednesday, said he has ordered town city police chiefs to enforce maximum presence in memorial parks, cemeteries, columbaria, and transport terminals to ensure public safety. He added that police field officers were instructed to work with force multipliers and emergency response units to ensure effective and visible security. The dissemination of safety tips and information is also in full swing to raise public awareness of different safety measures against lawless elements, making them more vigilant, responsible, and cautious, especially when in crowded places. "The goal of deployment is not just police visibility but also to feel their presence in the areas of convergence to assist commuters, particularly senior citizens and perso ns with disabilities," Ediong said. He emphasized that the public's cooperation is also vital in maintaining peace and order. In a separate statement, Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said close to 4,000 police personnel would secure this year's Undas observance. 'Our personnel will be deployed from Oct. 29 through Nov. 4 to guarantee the safety and security of the public as they commemorate All Saints' and All Souls' Days,' Maranan said.
