Ilocos Region: Over 23,000 job vacancies, both local and overseas, are set to be offered to residents of the Ilocos Region during the Kalayaan Jobs Fair, scheduled to take place across six locations in the provinces on Independence Day.

According to Philippines News Agency, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Ilocos Region assistant director, Honorina Dian-Baga, announced in a forum hosted by the Philippine Information Agency that the job openings include over 9,400 local positions and 13,600 opportunities abroad.

The venues for the Independence Day Jobs Fair include SM City Laoag in Ilocos Norte, Candon City Sports Complex in Ilocos Sur, Robinsons La Union, SM City Rosales, Alaminos City Sports Complex, and Nepo Mall Dagupan City, all located in Pangasinan. A total of 129 employers will be participating in the fair.

Dian-Baga highlighted that the top ten job vacancies available are for factory workers, cleaners, production operators, production assistants, service crew, staff nurses, quality assurance inspectors, delivery riders, machine operators, and welders.

Interested applicants have the option to pre-register through links available on DOLE's website or register onsite on the day of the event. Additionally, there will be a one-stop-shop offering services by national government agencies and the Kadiwa ng Pangulo at the job fair venues.

"This is one of the programs given emphasis and attention by the administration to further provide job opportunities to the people," Dian-Baga added. The DOLE is also encouraging fresh college and senior high school graduates to take part in the event.
