Bacolod: The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has activated 282 assistance hubs as part of the comprehensive security and public safety operations for the observance of the All Saints' and All Souls' Day this weekend. These include 226 police assistance desks and 56 motorist assistance centers established across Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor.
According to Philippines News Agency, on Friday afternoon, PRO-NIR Director Brig. Gen. Thomas Arnold Ibay conducted an inspection of cemeteries and memorial parks in some localities in Negros Occidental. 'I enjoin the public to cooperate with law enforcement authorities, observe security protocols, and report suspicious activities or unattended items to the nearest police station. Together, let us ensure that Undas 2025 remains a solemn, safe, and incident-free,' Ibay said in a statement.
For the entire region, at least 900 personnel from the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, and volunteer groups have been deployed for the 'Ligtas Undas 2025' operations until Nov. 3. They are tasked to secure the 186 cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria; 23 bus stations, 20 seaports, and three airports; as well as some churches and other places of convergence.
Other security personnel are assigned to serve as road safety marshals and conduct checkpoints and visibility patrol operations.
